Check out the new poll on the right. What do you guys think? How many games will the Dodgers win while Manny Ramirez is out? Some people think the team will wilt like a dying petunia. Others think the Dodgers will be just fine. My personal prediction...
I say the Dodgers go 26-24 in Manny's absence.
I chose 20-25 as I think they'll be about a .500 team. That is not due entirely to Manny's absence, but the schedule plays a major role. We'll be playing Philly and the Angels twice, the Mets, Marlins, and Cubs between now and July. We won't be able to beat up on the NL West much in the next 46 games.
ReplyDeleteThat's a good point. The schedule will be much tougher during these next two months or so. I think they need to avoid any prolonged losing streaks. If they play around .500 they should be fine as I find it hard to imagine any other team in the division getting hot enough to really challenge the Dodgers during this stretch.
ReplyDeleteI think most people really ommit the intangles he offers the Dodgers (I.E ) his ability to influence their young players not just by field performance but also by the fun enviorment he brings to the field and to the clubhouse. He has taught them baseball is fun and winning is a byproduct of it.Yeah I know he got caught for a banned substance but the players are not stupid they know it's not a question of use it becomes who was caught. Now I'm not saying this is a good thing but its so rampent that the league should offer amnesty for players who used during a certain time frame with union approval and lets stop the bleeding and move on. Forgive the editorial but it needs to be addresed. Now my take on the teams record in is absence will be a shad over .500.
